Drivers who hit and injure pedestrians can be charged with civil and criminal offenses. The pedestrian victim can be compensated for injuries, medical care, pain and suffering, and attorney fees. Of course, there can be scenarios when the pedestrian is liable for the accident including jaywalking and ignoring crosswalk warings. The court can find either party guilty depending on the scenario. If you have questions whether or not you can be considered liable on either side, please give us a call at (817) 335-5100.
